We are presently in the midst of extensive restoration of the barns and preparing to move them to a permanent location. We have discovered more restoration is needed than we originally thought. New beams have been cut by Amish craftsmen and they are being put in place by Scott's crew, Roger Bentley, Don Drake and Don Coon. The guys are working to replace the rotten boards, shore up the structure and crane off the second floors. The barns will be moved in four pieces because of power lines between the current location and the new site, which is two blocks away. We are hoping to complete the move by early summer. Check back for updates. We will announce the date of the move when we get closer.

John L.'s Secret Stash

This treasure may, indeed, have come from John L. Sullivan himself! During the restoration of the smaller barn, where Sullivan was locked up and dried out by Muldoon, we removed rows of clapboards to get to the floor joyces. Under his dry-out room, we found a jug marked Erie Distillery Company, Buffalo NY. Upon examination, we found a bit of newspaper wrapped around the cork that puts the jug in the right period!

Curcio Family Donates Original Couch & Chair to Hall of Fame
The Curcio Family of Belfast recently made a priceless donation to the Hall of Fame: the original Victorian couch and chair that were in Sullivan's "Room of Repose". The couch and chair will return to the barn after the move to the new location. This gift was made in memory of their daughter, Amanda.

Found In The Walls!
During the restoration, this part of a shipping crate fell out of the wall when we took the clapboards off. It is a shipping crate addressed to Josephine Muldoon. Miss Josephine Muldoon was William Muldoon's neice who was approximately five years old at the time that Sullivan trained in Belfast.
